Comment :It feels odd that I knew SteerPike for so long, and yet this is the first time I have seen his photo. It's very SteerPike. :-) Some time after his departure, it seems he still has the ability to surprise me. I miss the nights that I could speak to SteerPike, his view on any topic or problem was always a well thought out and respectable one. This site is a fantastic tribute to Max. It's one he would of been so touched by. The question of if Max knew how much he was liked by so many, even across the globe, is one I still ask myself. I truly hope he did, because he made a big difference to those who knew him and even to those who did not through his work. Thanks for all the fun, SP. :-) I'm sure you're still having it.

Comment :Well, I will shamble out of the woodwork long enough to pay my respects. SteerPike was a friend, but I haven't talked to him in years. He'll be missed. Long live our creation of Equal Rights for Animal Crackers. http://www.donmclennan.com/funhouse/erfac.html

Comment :I've visted here on many an occasion, and I've never posted because I didn't know what to say. I still don't, really, so if I blather on forgive me. I never really chatted with SteerPike, though I remember seeing his posts in the Creatures newsgroups. I looked to his graphics, and though I didn't know him, tried to measure my artistic efforts by whether or not it looked as good as his. I'm sad to say that I never got to know him personally, as many here have indicated that he was a wonderful person. I miss him. I hope he's able to see everyone who has so loved and enjoyed his website. TreeSprite

Comment :'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves   Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves,   And the mome raths outgrabe.   Beware the Jabberwock, my son!   The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jujub bird, and shun   The frumious Bandersnatch!   He took his vorpal sword in hand:   Long time the manxome foe he sought So rested he by the Tumtum tree,   And stood awhile in thought.   And as in uffish thought he stood,   The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,   And burbled as it came!   One, two! One, two! And through and through   The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head   He went galumphing back.   "And has thou slain the Jabberwock?   Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!   He chortled in his joy.   'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves   Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves,   And the mome raths outgrabe.
